someone please confirm....can you only start 2 RP's and not any more? I beleive we have talked about this and confirmed this, I just cant find it in the thread....someone tell me asap?
I am not aware that you can only start 2 RP's, let me go back and double confirm
from crzy's original thread

Pitching Rules
1) You must keep 2 RP on your roster at all times.

2) Regardless of Yahoo's position eligibilities, you can only start starting pitchers at starting pitcher, and you can only start guys who come out of the pen at RP. Guys like Jhoulys Chacin who have RP eligibility based on LAST YEAR cannot be used at RP unless they come out of the pen THIS YEAR.

3) You may only have a maximum of 8 starting pitchers on your team.

There are 5 SP spots, 1 flex P spot, and 5 total bench spots to be used on either hitters or pitchers. I'm going to assume that most people will have a starting pitcher at the flex spot, so that means you can have a maximum of 2 starting pitchers on your bench.

There is one DL spot. If you have a pitcher on the DL, that guy will not count toward your total of 8 starting pitchers.

unless you want to interpret #1 as you can ONLY have 2 RP's, I don't see why you can't have a 3rd RP at the flex spot
From what I understand from the rules:

1. Only SP's can be used in the "SP" spots.... as long as they are still working out of the rotation.

2. Only RP's can be used in the "RP" spots.... as long as they just work out of the pen.

3. Both SP's and RP's can be used in the flex "P" spot. So you can have as many as 3 RP's playing at once.

These rules were put in place so guys like Brett Myers (who is eligible at SP/RP) will only be used in the RP or flex P spot because he is a closer now, and guys like Feliz, Sale and Bard (who were RP's last year, but are in the rotation now) can't be used in the RP spot, and are only eligible at SP and the flex P spot.
I've been starting 3 RPs since the beginning of last season.

Bailey on the 60 day DL is such a waste of space but he's too good to let go :(
I think these questions are coming from the fact that so many closers are going down, so I think those of you dealing with that may have to start thinking of trade offers if you want a quick fix

That is not the case. You can start a RP in the P spot. That has always been the case.
Big win for me this week. Didn't want to start 0-2 in this league. Good match 4ML

Man I'm 0-2..Lincecum, Upton and Stanton have been disappointing so far especially Upton and Lincecum. Marmol sucks, and Baileys injury makes it worse. Cespedes started off great but has been doing terrible lately and leads the MLB in strikeouts

I still think I have a good team but a few of my key players are just starting awfully..grr

Yea, congrats on the win, it was a good back and forth. I'm starting 0-2 but I see some positives in this loss. So far, my pitching has been atrocious from top to down, hopefully that won't be the case every week. My offense is keeping me in the match-up, and if I can just get decent pitching - I'll be ok.

Must win this week!

You can put Bailey on the DL.
