Then, my only option is to either let Braun go, or to trade him to another guy who has a 1st round in the draft. THEN - that manager has to overpay for Braun - because once he trades for Braun, his 1st round pick is forfeited - and will have to trade me a pick other than the 1st rounder.

The benefit to this system though is that it makes it really expensive to keep guys you drafted in high rounds.
Which may allow for other owners to get their hands on a guy like Bruan or Hanley in future years instead of one owner just hoarding them for several consecutive years.
