Monday's press conference with San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch didn't offer any concrete clues on which quarterback they'll be taking with the third overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, but one thing did become perfectly clear -- they very much seem to like the options they have in front of them out of a group that will likely consist of Mac Jones of Alabama, Justin Fields of Ohio State, and Trey Lance of North Dakota State. The world won't know which of those players the 49ers like the most until the draft's first round takes place on April 29, but there's already been plenty of speculation as to who the selection will be. Shanahan and Lynch hope to catch up with Fields later. The duo was in Tuscaloosa to watch Mac Jones at Alabama's pro day. "We talked to (agent) Dave Mulugheta the other day, and he said that they'd be able to set up another [workout for Fields]," Shanahan told reporters on Monday. "That's why we chose Alabama. With Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson nearly a lock to go No. 1 and No. 2, San Francisco can go with Justin Fields of Ohio State, Trey Lance of North Dakota State, or Mac Jones of Alabama. Linsey has San Francisco going with the player who has been the popular choice among 49ers fans—Fields. "Fields' game has been put under the

Mac Jones versus Justin Fields or Trey Lance. That is the big debate when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers and the 2021 NFL Draft. While the latter two names are more likely to excite the fanbase, there is a lot of speculation that the former might be the pick at No. 3 overall. One former 49ers defender, cornerback Richard Sherman, doesn't assume it will be Jones, though. He actually sees Fields as the perfect fit for San Francisco, assuming Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are taken with the first two selections. Cornerback Tre'Davious White, the most recent guest on the Cris Collinsworth Podcast, which Sherman co-hosts, also believes the 49ers will select Fields. It isn't easy to fathom that San Francisco surrendered multiple first-round picks and a
