Today is former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Young's birthday. Young, now with ESPN, has been making the necessary rounds promoting his new book, "QB: My Life Behind the Spiral." He discusses a number of topics, including his career with the USFL, his career with the 49ers, his relationship with Joe Montana, and why he decided to have a book written.

Young also shared his thoughts on the Rams in Los Angeles, Tim Tebow playing baseball, Colin Kaepernick's protest, and more. Since the interview was broadcast live on Facebook, Young was able to take questions from fans.

Monson explains why trading young 49ers stars for Deshaun Watson isn't unthinkable

Sam Monson, the lead analyst for Pro Football Focus, feels the trade partner that makes the most sense for Deshaun Watson is the Miami Dolphins. That is, assuming the quarterback can force the Houston Texans to trade him. The Dolphins have a lot of draft capital to surrender, including two first-rounders this year, and could be a quarterback away from contending. Another team that could be considered built to win now is the San Francisco 49ers. However, they do not have as appealing a portfolio of draft picks as Miami. That would mean that to compete in a bidding war for a player like Watson — and there is no evidence that they would consider it — San Francisco would need to throw in some young proven talent into an offer that would also include draft

Pro Football Focus released its latest mock draft. Eric Eager and George Chahrouri have the San Francisco 49ers trading out of the No. 12 spot and adding a few more picks in the process. The Washington Football Team uses the selection to add quarterback Mac Jones of Alabama after the Pro Football Focus duo has the top four quarterback prospects — Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, and Trey Lance — gone by pick No. 9. That moves San Francisco down to No. 19, where the team selects cornerback Jaycee Horn of South
