WR Bruce Ellington injured against Packers

Aug 26, 2016 at 8:10 PM--

WR Bruce Ellington was hurt on a punt return in the second quarter of the San Francisco 49ers' preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. He had started running off the field but then went down to his knee and was slow to get off the field.

The injury may have been more serious than it appeared. Ellington remained on the 49ers bench being examined by team doctors with teammates clearly concerned.

WR DeAndrew White replaced Ellington on punt returns. Ellington's injury would later be reported as a hamstring injury.

The San Francisco 49ers are now a couple of days removed from the beat down they put on the divisional-rival Los Angeles Rams. Emotions are high for fans and players alike, as the team finally came away with a much-needed win. For the majority of the season, the 49ers were taking a lot of heat from fans and media for their mediocre performance, lack of identity, poor execution, and the mishandling of personnel. However, after the win on Monday night, a lot of that noise has since ceased, even though those criticisms were valid and perhaps still relevant. This was just one win. Granted, it was a massive win, one that

49ers set tone of dominance with long opening drive against Jaguars, even if it didn't end the way they wanted

By Kirk Larrabee

As was the case against the Los Angeles Rams last week, the San Francisco 49ers sent a loud, and clear message right off the bat in their 30-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday with a long opening drive that quickly established their dominance and set the tone for what would take place the rest of the game—even if what happened at the end of the drive felt somewhat disappointing. Whereas last week's opening drive in the 49ers' 31-10 win over the Rams came off a turnover and ended in a touchdown after lasting 18 plays, 93 yards, and eleven minutes and three seconds, this week's opening drive came after the opening kickoff and took up thirteen minutes and five seconds while spanning 20 plays and 87 yards before the 49ers took a 3-0 lead on a 20-yard Robbie
