Maurice Hicks signs contract

According to Sirius Radio, running back Maurice Hicks has signed his one year, $850,000 tendered contract with the 49ers.

In 2006, Hicks had 82 yards on 29 carries. He also had 13 receptions with 137 yards. His best year was in 2005 when he had 308 yards on 59 carries, an average of 5.2 yards per carry.

The San Francisco 49ers are big on building through the draft, and that can lead to several team-friendly contracts for some young up-and-coming NFL stars. Now and then, you miss on a high draft pick, though. 49ers insider discusses the possibility of George Kittle holding out for a new contract
