49ers extend Ray-Ray Armstrong, tender Michael Wilhoite and Jordan Devey

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that the team has signed restricted free agent LB Ray-Ray Armstrong to a one-year contract extension.


As expected, the team has also officially tendered one-year deals to LB Michael Wilhoite and G Jordan Devey.

The 49ers claimed Armstrong off of waivers from the Oakland Raiders back in November. He was not selected in the 2013 NFL Draft but was signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Rams. Armstrong appeared in five games for San Francisco last season, making three tackles.

Tight end Jordan Reed landed on injured reserve due to an MCL sprain on October 3. The San Francisco 49ers placed cornerback K'Waun Williams on injured reserve due to an ACL sprain on October 10. Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee, who observed the early portion of Thursday's practice, saw both players as they continue to rehab their injuries and prepare to return. The San Francisco 49ers have officially announced the trade for defensive end Jordan Willis of the New York Jets. The team sends a sixth-round draft pick in 2022 to the Jets in exchange for Willis, but receives a seventh-round draft pick in 2021. While news of the trade was reported last week, San Francisco could not officially announce the move until after Willis cleared COVID-19 protocols and a physical.
