Anquan Boldin, Von Miller, and his jacket introduce performance during Grammys

Feb 15, 2016 at 11:25 PM--

San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin and Denver Broncos LB Von Miller introduced a performance by Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt at the Grammys tonight, but it was Miller's jacket that left social media talking.

Boldin was there because he was the recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Miller was the MVP of Super Bowl 50, a game played on February 7 at Levi's Stadium.

What was that jacket made of anyways? It looked bedazzled. Thank goodness Boldin wasn't blinded.

And now now back to your regularly scheduled 49ers news.

49ers' Kyle Shanahan respects Chris Simms' analysis but tells his friend nothing

NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms seems convinced that the San Francisco 49ers traded up to the No. 3 spot to select quarterback Mac Jones. Of course, as is the case with many analysts, that is just an educated guess. However, it held more weight and created some chatter because of Simms' relationship with 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. The two are close friends. Simms has admitted that he doesn't have any real insight into Shanahan's thinking regarding this year's draft. He knows how the coach has looked at the quarterback position in the past, which led Simms to his conclusion about Jones. "I think it's Mac Jones. I do," Simms said on PFT Live today. "I don't know

Both Alabama and Ohio State will hold their pro days on Tuesday, March 30. Both have top quarterback prospects entering the draft in Mac Jones and Justin Fields. Both players are considered candidates for the San Francisco 49ers, who last week surrendered several future draft picks to move from the No. 12 slot to No. 3 overall. With both pro days scheduled for the same day, the 49ers will split duties, per Peter King of NBC Sports. General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan are scheduled to attend Alabama's workout to watch Jones. Assistant general manager Adam Peters and a delegation of staff will attend Ohio State's to watch Fields. "Not sure I would infer huge meaning to that, but it could be significant," wrote King in his

"The more mad Jimmy gets, usually, the better he gets": 49ers' Shanahan and Lynch discuss Garoppolo's future

The San Francisco 49ers shocked the NFL world by pulling off a massive trade moving from the No. 12 overall pick up to No. 3 in next month's NFL Draft. It is clear that the team is targeting a quarterback to—at some point—replace current starter Jimmy Garoppolo. It remains a mystery who that might be. Up until that point, team brass had verbally committed to Garoppolo being the quarterback in 2021, with the caveat that NFL rosters are always fluid. Garoppolo could very well remain with the 49ers through the upcoming season. That's the impression that head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch gave while speaking with reporters on Monday. The two tried to keep Garoppolo abreast of the situation leading to the franchise- and draft-altering
