Anquan Boldin, Von Miller, and his jacket introduce performance during Grammys

Feb 15, 2016 at 11:25 PM--

San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin and Denver Broncos LB Von Miller introduced a performance by Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt at the Grammys tonight, but it was Miller's jacket that left social media talking.

Boldin was there because he was the recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Miller was the MVP of Super Bowl 50, a game played on February 7 at Levi's Stadium.

What was that jacket made of anyways? It looked bedazzled. Thank goodness Boldin wasn't blinded.

And now now back to your regularly scheduled 49ers news.

Former San Francisco 49ers stars Patrick Willis and Bryant Young were among the 26 modern-era players named semifinalists for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2022. The 49ers made Willis the No. 11 overall draft pick in 2007, and he spent eight seasons with San Francisco before retiring after the 2014 season. He was named to seven Pro Bowls and is a five-time first-team All-Pro. San Francisco made Young the No. 7 overall draft pick in 1994, and he spent 14 seasons with the team. Boldin is among seven first-year eligible players. The others are

Things got a little heated during the first half of Sunday's matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars safety Rayshawn Jenkins threw a punch that connected with 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, resulting in a penalty, the defender getting ejected from the game, and keeping San Francisco's drive alive. What was head coach Kyle Shanahan's message to his young receiver after the scuffle? "I just told him, 'Great job. Now put your helmet on,'" Shanahan told reporters via a conference call on Monday. "It took him too long to hear 'put your helmet on,' but I thought, from what I saw, I saw him competing as hard as you can compete on a run play and just playing until the whistle. "Obviously, the other guy got upset with

Why Kyle Shanahan didn't give Trey Lance more playing time during 49ers-Jaguars

During Sunday's victory against the Jaguars, 49ers quarterback Trey Lance got his first live snaps since his first NFL start in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals, although most of them were handoffs. While the game seemed out of reach for much of the fourth quarter, head coach Kyle Shanahan elected not to put his rookie into the game to gain some of that "game-time" experience that Shanahan alluded to last week. Lance trotted out for the first time in over a month during the 49ers last offensive series, in which he handed the ball off twice, rushed once, and kneeled twice to end the game. When asked about whether Shanahan had any thoughts

Why Nick Bosa's mindset during ACL recovery impressed 49ers GM John Lynch

By David Bonilla

If you ask Nick Bosa, he'll tell you that he's even better than he was before his devastating ACL injury last season. The San Francisco 49ers pass rusher is proving it this season. He has already surpassed his previous career-high nine sacks during his 2019 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year campaign. Bosa's 10 sacks this season are tied for the fifth-most in the league, and the 49ers defender is the only player with 10-or-more sacks and 15 tackles for a loss. "I think I've definitely improved a lot," Bosa said on Sunday. "I think I'm starting to get the hang of just how to really get sacks, get numbers. My rookie year, I was just out there rushing, trying to win every time. It worked
