49ers hire Jeff Hafley as their defensive backs coach

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the San Francisco 49ers have hired former Cleveland Browns secondary coach Jeff Hafley as their defensive backs coach.


Hafley coached two seasons in Cleveland. Prior to that, he coached the same position for two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

49ers sign CB Janoris Jenkins to their practice squad

The San Francisco 49ers announced they signed cornerback Janoris Jenkins to their practice squad. The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown. Jenkins (5-10, 190) was originally drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the second round (39th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Throughout his 10-year career with the Rams (2012-15), New York Giants (2016-19), New Orleans Saints (2019-20), and Tennessee Titans (2021), he has appeared in 142 games (138 starts) and registered 575 tackles, 124 passes defensed, 27 interceptions, eight touchdowns, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 2.0 sacks.
