By David Bonilla

Arik Armstead was the longest-tenured member of the San Francisco 49ers, joining the team as a first-round draft pick two years before head coach Kyle Shanahan's tenure began. Despite the team's efforts to retain him by negotiating a restructured contract, they ultimately released the veteran defensive lineman when no agreement was reached. The two sides had tried to work on a contract restructuring to prevent his departure but ultimately could not reach an agreement, leading to Armstead's exit. On his podcast, "Third and Long," Armstead opened up about the situation, indicating that the offer the 49ers extended was embarrassing, especially after playing nine seasons for the organization. "I did feel extremely disrespected," Armstead stated. "They extended an offer to me. ... Nine years of me being there. The fans deserve to know what
