Chip Kelly’s introductory press conference will be Wednesday at 11 AM

Jan 19, 2016 at 12:22 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they will hold Chip Kelly's official introductory press conference on Wednesday, January 20 at 11 AM Pacific. The media will have their first opportunity to ask Kelly questions since he was hired on Thursday, January 14.

The press conference will be held in the auditorium within Levi's Stadium and both CEO Jed York and general manager Trent Baalke will be present.

Why the delay? The team said that it was due to scheduling conflicts along with the fact that Kelly and the 49ers have been working to assemble his coaching staff.

Levi's Stadium is preparing to host Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, February 7.

49ers-Cowboys Injury Report: Two D-linemen limited during Wednesday practice

By David Bonilla
Jan 18

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Divisional Round playoff contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The 49ers escaped Saturday's playoff win over the Seattle Seahawks relatively unscathed. Only two players, the same ones who were inactive this past weekend due to injuries, did not practice on Wednesday, not counting tackle Trent Williams, who gets a veteran day off. They are quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and cornerback Ambry Thomas. Only three players—wide receiver Jauan Jennings, defensive end Samson Ebukam, and defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw—were limited practice participants. The 49ers will benefit from extra rest, having last played on Saturday. They will have seven full

Last week, Pro Football Talk reported that the NFL has at least looked into the possibility of holding conference championship games at neutral sites, much like what the league dues with the Super Bowl and what college football does with bowl games. "Within the league office, the interest in neutral-site title games has become very real," wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "The NFL envies the atmosphere of major college bowl games, where a 50/50 mix of fans are decked out in team colors. It's one thing about college football that pro football does not fully replicate." Many have been critical of the idea, including

WR Brandon Aiyuk: 49ers have chip on their shoulder after recent playoff losses

The San Francisco 49ers are facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship on Sunday, with the winner facing off against either the Cincinnati Bengals or the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. This is a stage familiar for the 49ers, as they've made the NFC Championship Game in three of the past four seasons now, losing to the Los Angeles Rams last season, while going to the Super Bowl in 2019 after a win over the Green Bay Packers. However, despite seeing consistent success, the 49ers haven't accomplished their No. 1 goal: winning a Super Bowl, which has left a chip on their shoulder as they strive to hit that goal this season. When asked about the topic, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk agreed with the sentiment about having a chip

Do you smell that? It's playoff football. It's a time to celebrate. For a few more precious hours, every team in the tournament still has life, still has reason to hope. There are no more guaranteed games, but there's football to be played, and right now is the time to exult in it. No matter who you root for, you can imagine your team finding a way to win, a way to keep playing football, and filling your February with excitement and joy. Right now, there's nothing standing between your team and glory except the vagaries of chance and a well-fought effort this weekend, and hopefully the next. And for those of you who aren't rooting for a team that's made it this far, never fear. 7 of the 14 playoff entrants this year didn't make it into the dance last year. The
