49ers expected to hire DL coach Jerry Azzinaro, QB coach Ryan Day, and WR coach Bob Bicknell

The San Francisco 49ers are expected the bring in at least three Philadelphia Eagles assistants to join Chip Kelly's new staff. According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, DL coach Jerry Azzinaro, QB coach Ryan Day, and WR coach Bob Bicknell are expected to follow Kelly to San Francisco.


Azzinaro and Bicknell have served on the Eagles since 2013. Before that, Azzinaro was with Kelly at Oregon.

Day is expected to be the 49ers' QB coach or offensive coordinator. He joined the Eagles staff last season. Prior to that, he was the offensive coordinator and QB coach at Boston College.

Prior to his stint with Philadelphia, Bicknell served as the WR coach with the Buffalo Bills. Last year, the 49ers were interested in Bicknell as offensive coordinator under Jim Tomsula's staff. He decided to remain with the Eagles, where he has been since 2013. Before that, he was the WR coach for the Buffalo Bills.
