49ers place Shaun Draughn on IR

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have placed RB Shaun Draughn (knee) on IR, ending his season.

Draughn was injured during the 49ers' Week 15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Due to the injury to RB Carlos Hyde, Draughn was signed by the 49ers on November 2.

To to take his place, the team has claimed TE Je'Ron Hamm from the Washington Redskins.

Happy birthday, George Kittle. Unfortunately, it looks like you won't be on the football field for the next three games. Kyle Shanahan had a chance to study the film from yesterday's disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks and has reviewed the game with his players. The San Francisco 49ers head coach spoke with reporters today via a conference call and assessed the play of several players, including rookie quarterback Trey Lance. Lance started the second half after Jimmy Garoppolo sustained a calf contusion. The veteran quarterback will be re-evaluated later this week and could still play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
