49ers-Bengals Dec. 20 matchup moved out of prime time

Dec 7, 2015 at 2:19 PM--

The previously scheduled December 20 prime time Sunday Night Football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara has been moved to 1:25 PM. Instead of being aired on NBC, it will now be aired on CBS.

In its place, the league has flexed in the Arizona Cardinals (10-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-7) game.

The NFL, who uses flexible scheduling from weeks 11 through 17, attempts to put the best possible matchups into NBC's Sunday Night Football time slot. With the 49ers at 4-8, the league felt that the Eagles, who are still in the NFC East hunt, and the NFC West leading Cardinals would be a better matchup to get more viewers.

That leaves the 49ers with no remaining prime time games. Our San Francisco 49ers schedule page has been updated with the new kickoff time.

The team will break for the summer following Wednesday's session, so Tuesday was an opportunity for reporters to catch up with a number of 49ers players as well as head coach Kyle Shanahan to get some final updates before the team departs. Among those who spoke with the media Tuesday were wide receiver Deebo Samuel, defensive end Nick Bosa, and tight end George Kittle. 49ers Webzone posted updates earlier on some of the most newsworthy moments from those media sessions, but that was far from the only thing discussed Tuesday. Here's a recap of what the players and Shanahan said, including some praise for Trey Lance

The Brahmas signed the quarterback following the XFL Draft on November 17, 2022. #49ers are working out veteran quarterback Jack Coan
