San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters after today's practice and provided an update on Javon Kinlaw. The second-year defensive tackle has been dealing with a setback in his knee, an injury that occurred on December 20, 2020, against the Dallas Cowboys and forced him to miss the last two games of the season. Kinlaw was officially listed as "doubtful" for Sunday on the team's injury report. With the knee issues continuing to resurface, Shanahan was asked if injured reserve is a possibility for the defensive tackle. "Not yet," the coach responded. "I mean, he's still got a chance to play this week, so we're still trying to decide that. So, not yet." General manager John Lynch didn't sound too optimistic about Kinlaw's

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 17-11 Sunday in a primarily defensive showdown, and star pass rusher Nick Bosa was one of the many who asserted their dominance in this game. Bosa, who had a sack last week against the Lions, worked against left tackle Jordan Mailata for the majority of the game and accumulated two sacks along with a tackle for loss Sunday. When asked about his health and response to the speed of the game, Bosa was content with his status and game plan, and will look to improve as the season progresses. "Definitely better. I thought I rushed better," Bosa said. "I think every week I'll get better. Just getting used to the flow of the game and setting things up and being smart with my rushes, and not showing

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch joined KNBR's Murph & Mac show this morning. He provided an update on his rookie quarterback, Trey Lance, who has been recovering from a chipped bone in his finger suffered on August 29 in the preseason finale against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions, and Lance has been limited in the team's last two practices. Lynch was asked if his rookie will be available on Sunday. "It looks like it," Lynch responded. "He's had two good days of practice, provided he goes out there today and doesn't have any setbacks, which, at this point, is just about not hitting his hand on anyone's helmet, the way he [initially injured the finger]. "He's

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch joined KNBR's Murph & Mac show this morning. He provided a couple of important Week 1 updates surrounding two defensive players. Lynch was first asked about defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who has missed practices due to a knee injury. Although, he was limited on Thursday, which was an upgrade. "He came down on that [knee] at Dallas last year, and that led to some issues," Lynch said. "You know, it's kind of a deal where we've been able to quiet it down at times. And other times, it gets flared up. He was doing really well throughout the offseason, and it kind of flared up on him again at some point a couple of weeks ago. "We tried to quiet it down, but it's not working real well right now. But the good
