Ashley Lelie expected to sign with Texans or 49ers

According to ProFootballTalk.com, free agent receiver Ashley Lelie is expected to sign with either the Houston Texans of the San Francisco 49ers in the next couple of days. The Falcons and Vikings are also said to be interested.

Last year, Lelie, a first-round pick by the Broncos in 2002, was traded to the Falcons after asking to leave Denver.

Instead of traveling to Columbus to watch quarterback Justin Fields, a candidate to be drafted with the team's No. 3 overall pick, the duo was in Tuscaloosa for Alabama's pro day, watching Mac Jones. Why Jones over Fields? "[Just] talking with Fields' agent [David Mulugheta] and everything, we'll get another one from him too," Shanahan explained last week, per Kirk Larrabee. Justin Fields of Ohio State will hold his second pro day workout on Wednesday, April 14. San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch are expected to be in attendance. Both missed the former Buckeye quarterback's first pro day to attend Mac Jones' workout in Tuscaloosa. 49ers sign former Eagles QB Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal

The San Francisco 49ers announced that the team has signed former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal. The Washington Football Team made Sudfeld a sixth-round selection out of Indiana in 2016. He signed with the Eagles practice squad before the 2017 season. Sudfeld completed five-of-12 attempts (41.7 percent) for 32 yards and an interception in one game with the Eagles last season, per NFL.com. San Francisco now has four quarterbacks on its roster. They are Jimmy Garoppolo, Josh Rosen, Josh Johnson, and now Sudfeld. The team is expected to draft a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick, which they acquired on March 26 via a trade with the Miami Dolphins.
