49ers will place C Daniel Kilgore on PUP

Aug 31, 2015 at 11:54 AM--

The San Francisco 49ers will place C Daniel Kilgore on the reserve/PUP list. This move will make him ineligible for first six weeks of season.

Kilgore will be available following the team's game against the Baltimore Ravens and prior to their matchup against the division rival Seattle Sehawks.

Kilgore was the starter last season and played well for the 49ers before suffering a fractured left leg during week 7. He had a follow-up surgery in June and started training camp on the PUP list.

Because he did not practice with the team during training camp, he was eligible to start the season on the PUP list.

The move counts as a roster exemption as the team makes moves to get the roster down to 75 players from 89.

On Tuesday, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch informed reporters that running back Jeff Wilson Jr. and safety Tarvarius Moore are being placed on the active/physical-unable-to-perform (PUP) list as the team prepares to kick off training camp. Wilson suffered a non-contact knee injury in May. Moore underwent surgery after suffering a torn Achilles during practice in June. "[Players are] going through physicals today, and if there are any additions, Kyle (Shanahan) will hit you up in the coming days," Lynch said. "But that's where we are right now." Lynch and Shanahan were asked if there were any other potential candidates that they knew of. "A couple of guys that you know had some things that we'll see on their physicals, if

The San Francisco 49ers announced several roster moves today as the team arrived in Santa Clara for training camp. Fourteen of those resulted from positive tests. Among those 15 players is 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley. He is slated to be the starter across from Jason Verrett. San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is being joined by two of his teammates on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Niners announced today that they are placing safety Jaquiski Tartt and wide receiver Jauan Jennings on the list, which means neither will be present for the first training camp practice. 49ers players underwent their first COVID-19 tests yesterday morning, upon reporting to the team's facilities. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Tartt was already dealing with a toe injury and was a candidate to land on the active/physical-unable-to-perform (PUP) list. However, the team didn't announce the move. San Francisco made Jennings a seventh-round draft pick last year. He spent his rookie campaign on the practice

2019 49ers vs. 2021 49ers, Part 1 (Offense)

How well do the 2021 49ers stack up to the 2019 team? Lately I have listened to some podcasts and read some tweets comparing the current San Francisco 49ers team (2021) to the 2019 team that fell just short of winning the Super Bowl. I find the comparison interesting. And since many people quickly assume the 2021 49ers are not as good as the 2019 team, I wanted to take a look for myself. So as we prepare for the team to report on Tuesday, let's compare the two teams, position by position. For the purpose of this very scientific experiment, we will assume everyone is healthy (even though that never happens). Let's start on offense. The defensive comparison is coming soon.
