The San Francisco 49ers got their roster down to 75 players today. NFL teams are require to do so by 1 PM on Tuesday.

The following is a list of players that the 49ers have cut as well as those placed on injury lists. 10 players were released and 4 were placed on injury lists.

49ers place RB Jeff Wilson on reserve/COVID list, cut two others

The San Francisco 49ers have announced that running back Jeff Wilson Jr. has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He joins wide receiver Richie James Jr., who was placed on the list on Monday. Wilson was among the players who reported for COVID-19 testing on Tuesday. The reserve/COVID-19 list has been created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, his club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Clubs are not permitted to comment on a player's medical status other than referring to the roster status and may not disclose whether the player is in quarantine

Two 49ers beat writers high on Jerick McKinnon's chances to contribute in 2020

San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon reworked his once-hefty contract to remain with the team and prove he can be the player head coach Kyle Shanahan envisioned. San Francisco signed McKinnon in 2018 but the running back has yet to take a regular-season snap with the team. Shanahan once envisioned a weapon in the backfield who was just as dangerous catching the football as he was carrying it.
