Simpson visited with the 49ers on Wednesday. He did not play last season. The Vikings released him in September as he was serving a suspension for violating the NFL's policy on substances of abuse.

Simpson was drafted out of Coastal Carolina in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Bengals.
In 2013, he had 48 receptions for 726 yards with the Vikings.
