Former rugby star Jarryd Hayne chose the San Francisco 49ers over the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. He will compete for a roster spot with the team. The former Parramatta Eels star shocked many fans when he announced that he would be leaving the National Rugby League for the National Football League.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and at my age, this is my one and only chance at having a crack at playing there," said Hayne back in October.
Below is video of the official press conference held earlier today. Thanks to longtime fan Patrick Tulini for pointing it out to us.
Hayne will likely compete at running back and on special teams.
