Raiders a favorite to trade for Jim Harbaugh

Nov 30, 2014 at 8:01 AM--

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that, according to an NFL source, the Oakland Raiders are a favorite to trade for San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh. He also states that the New York Jets are keeping an eye on the situation.

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area added that he cannot envision that Harbaugh would allow the 49ers to trade him because a trade involving draft picks would weaken his new team and help San Francisco.

Harbaugh will have one year remaining in his current deal and it is unlikely that anything will be resolved until after the season is over.

The Cleveland Browns have lost two consecutive games. Their quarterback, Baker Mayfield, is ailing. He had his arm in a sling after the Browns' 37-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals this past weekend and said this of his shoulder: "It feels like s--t." Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in Week 2. He landed hard on that same shoulder on Sunday following a sack by Cardinals defender J.J. Watt. With the November 2 trade deadline approaching, San Francisco 49ers fans should brace themselves for a lot of Jimmy Garoppolo chatter now that the No. 3 overall pick, Trey Lance, has a start under his belt. The team has expressed a preference to ride out the season with the more experienced Garoppolo at the helm. Does that change depending on how these next two games

Sunday night will be a reunion for many San Francisco 49ers players. All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner will return to Levi's Stadium for the first time since being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2020. "He was the heart and soul when he was here, man," safety Jimmie Ward said of Buckner after today's practice. "I wasn't happy about [the trade], but I understand the business side. I'm pretty sure you all knew something was going to happen, just like I did. I just didn't know what was going to happen. "When that happened, like I said, it was bittersweet. We ended up getting [Javon] Kinlaw, and we ended up getting Brandon Aiyuk. But we lost a leader, especially a leader on the defense. Really, a leader on this team, in this building. But he's

The trade deadline always creates speculation across the league. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo landed with the San Francisco 49ers at the trade deadline in 2017. The Niners traded for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders about a week before the trade deadline in 2019. The 49ers have two more games before this year's trade deadline. Garoppolo is expected to be the team's starter this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts. Assuming he remains healthy, he will likely be the starter the next weekend against the Chicago Bears. Fans hoping for San Francisco to deal its veteran quarterback, officially passing the torch to rookie Trey Lance, and recouping some draft capital in the process, might be disappointed. One longtime NFL writer doesn't believe Garoppolo is going

DeForest Buckner reflects on trade that sent him from 49ers to Colts

DeForest Buckner will return to Levi's Stadium for the first time since the San Francisco 49ers traded the defensive lineman to the Indianapolis Colts last year. On Wednesday, he jumped on a conference call with 49ers reporters and reflected on the surprising move. "In the moment, when you told me, when it was official, when I got traded, the feelings that I was feeling, if you told me that I was going to feel this way a year-and-a-half later, I would have said you're crazy," Buckner told reporters. "But everything happens for a reason, and the Lord put me here for a reason, and I'm very happy for the decisions that were made." Money was obviously an obstacle in San Francisco holding onto the talented defender. Buckner said the 49ers never offered him anything
