Pass rusher Nick Bosa rejoined his San Francisco 49ers teammates this week. He had been rehabbing and training in Florida with his brother, Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers. Joey typically passes on attending his own team's organized team activities (OTAs). Nick Bosa was never going to hit the practice field with his teammates, but the plan was always to have him around for these two weeks — the last week of OTAs and next week's three-day minicamp. 49ers officially announce signing of LB James Burgess Jr. to a one-year deal

The San Francisco 49ers officially announced the signing of linebacker James Burgess Jr. to a one-year deal. News of the impending signing was first reported last week by ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown. Burgess (6-0, 230) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2016. As a rookie in 2016, he spent time on the Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Cleveland Browns practice squads. He later spent two seasons with the Browns (2017-18), while also playing for the New York Jets (2019) and the Green Bay Packers (2020).



49ers officially announce Weston Richburg's retirement

Today, the San Francisco 49ers officially announced the retirement of veteran center Weston Richburg. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was the first to report Richburg's retirement, doing so last week while speaking with reporters during the first week of organized team activities. The center joined the 49ers on a five-year, $47.5 million contract on March 14, 2018. Richburg's 2019 season came to an early end due to a torn patellar tendon suffered during Week 14.
