By David Bonilla
Jan 22
The San Francisco 49ers have released the list of inactive players for their Divisional playoff matchup at home against the Dallas Cowboys. These players will not suit up for Sunday's game.
Inactives:
DL Alex Barrett
RB Tyrion Davis-Price
QB Jimmy Garoppolo (foot)
DL Drake Jackson
TE Tyler Kroft
CB Ambry Thomas (ankle)
OL Nick Zakelj
The only two players ruled out due to injuries are quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and cornerback Ambry Thomas. Their status has been known since Friday.
Rookie defensive end Drake Jackson has been inactive for four of the last five games.

49ers' Kyle Shanahan still not optimistic about Jimmy Garoppolo's return this week

It seems it's time for your weekly Jimmy Garoppolo update. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been sidelined since suffering a broken foot on December 4. However, there is a slight chance Garoppolo could return and suit up for the playoffs, likely serving as rookie Brock Purdy's backup.
That probably won't be this week, though.
Last week, head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that the quarterback probably wouldn't be ready for an NFC Championship Game appearance. However, Garoppolo suiting up for the Super Bowl, should the 49ers make it that far, might be more likely.
On Monday, Shanahan was once again asked about Garoppolo's recovery and

DeMeco Ryans has a packed schedule this week, and that's outside of preparing for Sunday's playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. The San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator is a hot name in head coaching searches. He is slated to interview with the Denver Broncos on Thursday and the Houston Texans on Friday, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

49ers' Kyle Shanahan discusses Cowboys playing on short week
By David Bonilla
Jan 19
When the San Francisco 49ers kick off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, eight days will have passed since their last game, a 41-23 Wild Card win over the Seattle Seahawks. Only six days will have passed for the Cowboys since their previous game, a 31-14 Monday night win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
San Francisco, the home team, has an obvious advantage with two extra days to recover and prepare for this weekend's postseason clash. However, it's something that the team's head coach believes is sometimes overemphasized.
"I think it can be an advantage. Sometimes it can be a disadvantage," Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday. "I know the obvious ones—that you get less rest, less time to recover."
