49ers front office on their way to Miami

Feb 27, 2014 at 4:25 PM--

The 49ers front office jumps on a private charter to Miami and speculation around the web starts to go wild. Turron Davenport of Niner Talk Central posted the following on Twitter earlier:

Apparently, the flight has Jed and John York, Trent Baalke, Paraag Marathe, and legal/executive assistant Micheline Capaci.

In response, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee humorously tweeted the following:

Jed York even tweeted the following in response to Davenport, confirming that he was in fact on the flight (It was reported earlier that it was just John York and not Jed York):

It could be that the entire front office is on the way to make some sort of trade. It could be that they are on their way to work on a contract with a 49ers free agent or extend someone's contract. It could be that they are all taking a fun vacation together. You take your coworkers on vacation too, right?

Turron Davenport later stated the following:

He also stated that "it is rare that two execs arrive for days before a meeting."

Why do you think the 49ers front office is headed to Miami?

The San Francisco 49ers typically fly out of San Jose International Airport for road games and were set to do so for this two-game stint on the East Coast. Their plans changed, however, when the plane was found to be damaged, forcing the entire team to travel north and leave out of San Francisco International Airport, according to an on-air report by FOX. The 49ers plan to stay on the East Coast between their two games at MetLife Stadium. The team has a comfortable lead late in the fourth quarter against the New York Jets and will return to play the New York Giants in one week. The team will stay and practice at The Greenbrier in West Virginia this week. Despite likely departing with a win, the 49ers have to be concerned after several players

The San Francisco 49ers could see a healthy dose of Frank Gore on Sunday when they travel to MetLife Stadium to play the New York Jets. The running back remains the 49ers' all-time rushing leader. He started his career with the team, played 10 seasons with San Francisco, and remains a fan favorite. Gore even has admirers on the current 49ers roster. Running back Raheem Mostert once asked former Niners tackle Joe Staley about Gore. Staley and Gore played eight seasons together. "I asked him, 'What does it take for a guy like me to be like Frank Gore?'" Mostert shared this past offseason. "Because Frank Gore is my idol. I love watching him play, and I know that Joe was blocking

Rapid Reaction to the 49ers' 24-20 Loss to the Cardinals

By Matt Andruscavage
Sep 13, 2020

1) The Cardinals are good While the 49ers should have been able to get a win today, let's not lose sight of the improvements made by the Arizona Cardinals. DeAndre Hopkins dominated the secondary today with 14 catches for 151 yards. He was open a lot and the 49ers were not able to give much of an answer for his play today. Kyler Murray ran for 91 yards, passed for 230 yards, and had two total touchdowns. The ground game was good, their defense was scrappy, and their playcalling was not predictable. San Francisco had a lot of opportunities, which I'll go into, but the performance by the Cardinals should not be discounted. They are a playoff contender and will not be an easy out this year. They still have weaknesses, especially if you can force Murray to throw
