49ers front office on their way to Miami

Feb 27, 2014 at 4:25 PM--

The 49ers front office jumps on a private charter to Miami and speculation around the web starts to go wild. Turron Davenport of Niner Talk Central posted the following on Twitter earlier:

Apparently, the flight has Jed and John York, Trent Baalke, Paraag Marathe, and legal/executive assistant Micheline Capaci.

In response, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee humorously tweeted the following:

Jed York even tweeted the following in response to Davenport, confirming that he was in fact on the flight (It was reported earlier that it was just John York and not Jed York):

It could be that the entire front office is on the way to make some sort of trade. It could be that they are on their way to work on a contract with a 49ers free agent or extend someone's contract. It could be that they are all taking a fun vacation together. You take your coworkers on vacation too, right?

Turron Davenport later stated the following:

He also stated that "it is rare that two execs arrive for days before a meeting."

Why do you think the 49ers front office is headed to Miami?

49ers set tone of dominance with long opening drive against Jaguars, even if it didn't end the way they wanted

As was the case against the Los Angeles Rams last week, the San Francisco 49ers sent a loud, and clear message right off the bat in their 30-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday with a long opening drive that quickly established their dominance and set the tone for what would take place the rest of the game—even if what happened at the end of the drive felt somewhat disappointing. Whereas last week's opening drive in the 49ers' 31-10 win over the Rams came off a turnover and ended in a touchdown after lasting 18 plays, 93 yards, and eleven minutes and three seconds, this week's opening drive came after the opening kickoff and took up thirteen minutes and five seconds while spanning 20 plays and 87 yards before the 49ers took a 3-0 lead on a 20-yard Robbie

49ers showed their identity on offense against Rams, and it looked a lot like 2019

After an inconsistent start to the season, the 49ers finally found a groove on offense Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, and it looked pleasantly familiar. The 49ers ran the ball 44 times in their 31-10 win over the Rams for 156 yards and one touchdown. They converted eight of 14 third downs and were able to chew up over 39 minutes of possession time while committing zero turnovers throughout the game. In a nutshell, what the 49ers were able to do Monday night seemed a lot like the level of play they showed when they were at the top of their game in 2019. "Honestly it felt pretty similar to the Super Bowl year," quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo told reporters after the game. "It felt like we ran the ball 30 times every time that year. When we can

Steve Young: 49ers find their dogs, Jimmy Garoppolo at his best

By David Bonilla
Nov 18

A week ago, Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young wondered if the San Francisco 49ers had any dogs on the team. A conversation with a former teammate and another Hall of Fame player, Jerry Rice, led Young to ponder the question. "There's no dogs," Rice told Young. Of course, that was coming off an embarrassing loss to an injury-depleted Arizona Cardinals team. The quarterback turned ESPN analyst, like fans, saw a completely different squad on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams. It was a dominant performance that ended with a 31-10 upset win and Kyle Shanahan's fifth consecutive
