49ers front office on their way to Miami

Feb 27, 2014 at 4:25 PM--

The 49ers front office jumps on a private charter to Miami and speculation around the web starts to go wild. Turron Davenport of Niner Talk Central posted the following on Twitter earlier:

Apparently, the flight has Jed and John York, Trent Baalke, Paraag Marathe, and legal/executive assistant Micheline Capaci.

In response, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee humorously tweeted the following:

Jed York even tweeted the following in response to Davenport, confirming that he was in fact on the flight (It was reported earlier that it was just John York and not Jed York):

It could be that the entire front office is on the way to make some sort of trade. It could be that they are on their way to work on a contract with a 49ers free agent or extend someone's contract. It could be that they are all taking a fun vacation together. You take your coworkers on vacation too, right?

Turron Davenport later stated the following:

He also stated that "it is rare that two execs arrive for days before a meeting."

Why do you think the 49ers front office is headed to Miami?

Steve Young: Healthy Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers need to find a way to manufacture 5 TDs a game

By David Bonilla

Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young has an idea to help the San Francisco 49ers turn things around during this upcoming brutal stretch of games. Score. A lot. The defense — the pass rush specifically — helped carry the 49ers last season during their championship run. Robert Saleh's unit probably isn't going to be able to do so again this season. Injuries have ravaged the defense, and it is in shambles. That was evident during this past weekend's dismantling by the Miami Dolphins. Now, it is up to the offense to try to carry the 49ers. To do that, head coach Kyle Shanahan, who calls the plays, will have to rely on a (hopefully) healthier Jimmy Garoppolo to manufacture more trips to the end zone and improve upon the 18th-ranked scoring

The San Francisco 49ers have yet to host any fans at Levi's Stadium this season, even as teams in other states have started opening their gates to a limited number of game attendees. It looked like that might change soon when, on Tuesday, California issued new COVID-19 health and safety guidelines that would have allowed up to 13,000 fans at Levi's Stadium for future home games. Santa Clara County quickly declared that won't be happening. "Audiences at professional sporting events will not be allowed anytime soon in Santa Clara County, and theme parks will not resume operation," the Santa Clara County Public Health Department told the San Francisco

Jimmy Garoppolo expecting 'another dogfight' vs. Patriots, feels 49ers are finding their identity

By David Bonilla
Oct 18, 2020

The San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to face the New England Patriots in Foxborough next weekend. It will be a bit of a homecoming for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who spent his first three seasons learning from Tom Brady and Bill Belichick before being traded to Kyle Shanahan's squad in 2017. "It will be cool to get back to the old stomping grounds, see some familiar faces," Garoppolo said after the home-team 49ers knocked off the Los Angeles Rams. "But we'll enjoy this one tonight, get on the film for the Patriots and everything tomorrow, and this win will definitely give us a little momentum. But next week is going to be another dogfight." The Patriots are struggling, sit at 2-3, and are coming off two consecutive losses. The injury-plagued 49ers responded to
