Battle misses one workout

Chrissy Mauck, of SF49ers.com, reports San Francisco 49ers WR Arnaz Battle (knee) did not practice during morning workouts Thursday, Aug. 3, but took part in afternoon special teams work.

Smith suffered bruised thigh

Chrissy Mauck, of SF49ers.com, reports San Francisco 49ers MLB Derek M. Smith (thigh) continued to practice Thursday, Aug. 3, despite suffering a bruised thigh the day before. However, he was removed from some of the team drills.

Deloach injured

Chrissy Mauck, of SF49ers.com, reports San Francisco 49ers DE Jerry Deloach (knee) suffered a knee injury Thursday, Aug. 3, during morning workouts and is expected to miss a few days of workouts.

Hamilton out indefinitely

Chrissy Mauck, of SF49ers.com, reports San Francisco 49ers WR Derrick Hamilton (hamstring) is out indefinitely due to a hamstring injury. He didn't practice Thursday, Aug. 3.

The Philadelphia Eagles might have been the better team in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. But were they 31-7 better than the San Francisco 49ers? Probably not. Of course, we are all left wondering what might have happened had rookie quarterback Brock Purdy not been hurt in the first quarter. The 49ers felt they had prepared a great game plan for their bout with the Eagles. Unfortunately, that quickly got thrown out the window.
