Earlier today, it was reported that Josh Cribbs was likely to end up with the Arizona Cardinals. Mary Kay Cabot, a reporter for the Plain Dealer, said that Cribbs has narrowed it down to two teams. None of which are the San Francisco 49ers. Cribbs has narrowed his choice to the New England Patriots and the previously reported Arizona Cardinals.

Richard Sherman points out flaws in PFF's grading system

Let me first point out that Richard Sherman was Pro Football Focus' highest-graded (90.3) cornerback last season. The San Francisco 49ers veteran defender is one of just two cornerbacks who have been targeted more than 250 times over the past decade and allowed a completion rate of less than 50 percent. The list is a top 25 ranking, and two players represent the San Francisco 49ers. The first — 26-year-old offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill — comes in at No. 10. The

Reed on the reserve/non-football injury list, effectively ending his season. The versatile defensive back suffered a torn pectoral muscle in June. "That's a tough one for us," Lynch told reporters. "The earliest we might have had D.J. back was early November. It's a four-to-six-month injury, so that's been an active conversation Kyle and myself and the medical folks have been having. Ultimately, too difficult to keep a roster spot for something that may go into December. So we made that
