With the 22nd pick in the first round now under their control, the 49ers should have no guilt about taking tight end Vernon Davis with the sixth pick in the first round. The 49ers need defensive help and should be in a good position to get a linebacker or a defensive back with the 22nd pick. One possibility that might scare the 49ers a little is the Jets taking Davis with the fourth pick.

Vernon Davis on 49ers TE George Kittle: "His skill set is unmatched"
By David Bonilla
Jul 31
Vernon Davis remains the all-time leading receiver among San Francisco 49ers tight ends. His 5,640 receiving yards over his 10 NFL seasons with the team ranks sixth in 49ers history.
