Trent Williams as a receiver? That's about the last thing anyone expected to see from the San Francisco 49ers against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but that's exactly what happened at one point during the third quarter. The 49ers were up 20-3 en route to a 30-10 win over the Jaguars when Williams' number was called on a 3rd-and-Goal from the 1-yard line. It didn't look like the 49ers had a chance against Sean McVay's Super Bowl-hopeful squad that upgraded its starting quarterback this offseason, swapping Jared Goff (plus some draft capital) for Matthew Stafford. As most expected, the game was a good old-fashioned beatdown. Except, Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers delivered the blows to the tune of a 31-10 victory. It was the Niners' first home victory in 393
