Why Brandon Aiyuk is building excitement about the 49ers' future

By Rohan Chakravarthi

Brandon Aiyuk came to play, yet again, during Sunday's early-morning 31-10 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, catching all seven of his targets for 85 yards and a touchdown, leading the 49ers in all three categories. Aiyuk, who's been a major factor in the passing game over the last four weeks in a complementary role to star Deebo Samuel, has shown signs of his rookie self, and was a crucial player in the passing game for Jimmy Garoppolo, who seemed to trust his 23-year old receiver in key throwing situations. Samuel, who was utilized mainly as a rusher Sunday, only had one catch for 15 yards as opposed to eight carries for 79 yards and a touchdown. After the game, Kyle Shanahan had nothing but praise for his prized sophomore receiver, explaining

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been on a tear recently after a slow start to the season, as three of his highest offensive outputs have come over the last four weeks. In addition, Aiyuk reeled in all seven of his targets for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars, leading the 49ers in all those categories. With the second-year receiver taking a step forward recently after "talking" with head coach Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers have turned their own season around, as they're winners of two straight and three of their last four games, putting them at 5-5 overall and in eighth place in the NFC playoff seeding before a highly-touted matchup with a fellow playoff contender in the Minnesota Vikings this week. In Aiyuk's resurgence, the receiver has

49ers look to build on momentum against the Jaguars

The San Francisco 49ers are now a couple of days removed from the beat down they put on the divisional-rival Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers are now tied with the Pittsburg Steelers for most wins on Monday Night Football after destroying the Rams 31-10 at Levi's Stadium. Emotions are high for fans and players alike, as the team finally came away with a much-needed win. For the majority of the season, the 49ers were taking a lot of heat from fans and media for their mediocre performance, lack of identity, poor execution, and the mishandling of personnel. However, after the win on Monday night, a lot of that noise has since ceased, even though those criticisms were valid and perhaps still relevant. This was just one win. Granted, it was a massive win, one that
