Former NFL defensive lineman Bryant Young this year will become the 29th inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame. His name was among several former 49ers players listed among the 130 nominees listed for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Linebacker Patrick Willis was among the 25 players listed as modern-era semifinalists in November of 2019 but, shockingly to some, did not make the trimmed-down list of 15 in January. 49ers-Cardinals: Kyle Shanahan hopes Deebo Samuel can practice on Friday; he and Brandon Aiyuk remain game-day decisions

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan joined KNBR on Friday morning and shared some injury updates. All eyes during practices this week have been on the statuses of wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk (hamstring) got back on the practice field on Thursday, but Samuel remained sidelined as he recovers from a Jones fracture in June. Shanahan was asked about Samuel's status for Sunday when the 49ers open the season by hosting the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium. "I haven't gotten an update from the trainers yet," Shanahan said on the Murph & Mac show, "but I'm really hoping they're going to get out and practice today. Jauan Jennings, JaMycal Hasty, other recent 49ers cuts clear waivers, become practice-squad eligible

The NFL waiver claims have been made. The San Francisco 49ers were not awarded a player. They also didn't see any of their recent roster cuts get claimed, which means players like rookie receiver Jauan Jennings, a seventh-round pick, and undrafted rookie running back JaMycal Hasty are eligible to join the team's practice squad.
