By Kirk Larrabee

If there was one significant turning point in the San Francisco 49ers' 17-11 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, it was most likely the unexpected goal line stand members of the defense produced after a 91-yard pass put their backs against the wall in the second quarter. Down 3-0 to the Eagles with just over seven minutes remaining in the half, the 49ers had a long field behind them after a punt from Mitch Wishnowsky pinned the Eagles at their own three-yard line. But on the first play after the punt, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went deep for wide receiver Quez Watkins, who went for 91 yards before being brought down by safety Jaquiski Tartt and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir at the 49ers' six-yard line. A pass interference call on cornerback Josh Norman two plays

The 49ers won in a thrilling, yet somewhat alarming way Sunday, as they went to Detroit to face the Lions and wound up victorious with a 41-33 final score. After the game, George Kittle shared the lesson that he and the team learned from this surprisingly close win, speaking to the level of talent in the

Rapoport feels Richard Sherman to 49ers 'would be a really good addition'

Could Richard Sherman returning to the San Francisco 49ers be on the horizon for the veteran cornerback? Head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that the two sides had been in contact about the possibility but didn't indicate anything was imminent. Still, it is an intriguing possibility. The 49ers lost their starting cornerback, Jason Verrett, to what appears to be a season-ending ACL injury. That confirmation is expected today. A week ago, the team signed Josh Norman for depth. But a significant injury to one of your best defenders can force you to look at your options. That's what the 49ers are preparing to do. Prayers
