Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area is reporting via Twitter (@MaioccoCSN) that San Francisco 49ers free agent tackle Barry Sims visited the team facility today. The team is leaving the door open to re-sign Sims later.

49ers-Cardinals: Kyle Shanahan hopes Deebo Samuel can practice on Friday; he and Brandon Aiyuk remain game-day decisions

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan joined KNBR on Friday morning and shared some injury updates. All eyes during practices this week have been on the statuses of wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk (hamstring) got back on the practice field on Thursday, but Samuel remained sidelined as he recovers from a Jones fracture in June. Shanahan was asked about Samuel's status for Sunday when the 49ers open the season by hosting the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium. The San Francisco 49ers released an unofficial depth chart ahead of Week 1. It listed "Emmanuel Moseley OR Ahkello Witherspoon" as the starting cornerback opposite veteran Richard Sherman. While Moseley is expected to start, we may not officially know that until warmups on Sunday morning. Kyle Shanahan sounds content with leaving the Arizona Cardinals guessing until then.
