Steelers contact 49ers about Ben Roethlisberger

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have contacted San Francisco about the possibility of trading quarerback Ben Roethlisberger to the 49ers.

There has been much speculation surrounding the strained relationship between Roethlisberger, the Steelers organization, and the fans in Pittsburgh.

On Wednesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspending Roethlisberger without pay for the first six games of the 2010 season for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy.

Other teams contacted about Roethlisberger were the Browns, Jaguars, and Seahawks. The Rams and Bills have already said that they are not interested in the troubled quarterback.
