It took an amazing Vince Young led 99 yard touchdown drive by the Tennessee Titans, but they came back and beat the Arizona Cardinals by the score of 20-17.

What does this mean for San Francisco? The 49ers, after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars, are now only 2 games behind the Cardinals in the NFC West. The 49ers will face the Cardinals at Candlestick Park in two weeks.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell nominated for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week

The NFL announced that San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell has been nominated for this week's FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week award. The rookie rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on 27 attempts (4.9 avg.) in the 49ers' 34-26 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The other nominees are Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette (100 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 17 attempts against the Colts) and Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (165 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries against the Steelers). In April, San Francisco made Mitchell a sixth-round draft pick out of Louisiana. Carlos Dunlap's hand may have been all that stopped the San Francisco 49ers from scoring on their final play during their 30-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The 49ers had the ball on a 4th-and-Goal with seconds to play when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo spotted wide receiver Trent Sherfield open near the end zone. Former hard-hitting NFL safety John Lynch, now the general manager of the San Francisco 49ers, was presented his Hall of Fame ring and honored at Raymond James Stadium during halftime of Monday night's game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants. Lynch was inducted as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2021, rewarding his career with the Buccaneers and Denver Broncos. The nine-time Pro Bowl selection, four-time All-Pro, and Super Bowl XXXVII champion played 15 combined NFL seasons and amassed 1,051 combined tackles, 26 interceptions, 13 sacks, and 16 forced fumbles, per ESPN statistics.
