In a somewhat surprising move on Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers listed running back Christian McCaffrey as questionable for Sunday's Week 15 matchup against the Tennessee Titans due to a back issue. The designation came one day after the team had listed McCaffrey as full-go for the game.
McCaffrey had been dealing with an illness earlier in the week, but head coach Kyle Shanahan previously expressed confidence that the All-Pro running back would be available against Tennessee.
When asked if McCaffrey was full-go, head coach Kyle Shanahan simply responded, "Yes."
Despite the late downgrade on the injury report, all signs continue to point toward McCaffrey playing. Shortly after the status change became public, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that McCaffrey is expected to be "good to go" for Sunday's game.

That report was later reinforced by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, who echoed the sentiment, stating that McCaffrey "should be good to go for Sunday."

Christian McCaffrey has once again been the engine of the 49ers' offense this season, compiling 1,655 scrimmage yards and 13 total touchdowns through 13 games. He remains on pace to surpass 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards, a feat he last achieved in 2019 and one that would make him the only player in NFL history to accomplish it multiple times.
The 49ers enter the matchup as 12.5-point favorites over the Titans and aim for their fourth consecutive victory, which would improve their record to 10–4 and further boost their playoff chances.
