The San Francisco 49ers went on the road and won an early East Coast game on Sunday, beating the New York Giants 34-24. The run game was good, which it should have been, considering the Giants are the worst team in the league at stopping the run. And the defense bounced back from a terrible game in Houston a week ago.
Here are my rapid reactions. These are my live responses to the game as it unfolded. Let's take a look back.
- What a horrible opening for the 49ers' defense, surrendering a 10-play, 64-yard touchdown. That is not good.
- Deommodore Lenoir got pushed around on that touchdown. And his fellow defenders got pushed around on all the other plays.

- Spencer Burford is starting at left guard. I'm a little surprised by that.
- And the offense starts the game with a three-and-out. This looks like last week.
- Oh, wait, they're going for it on 4th down. And they got it. First down, 49ers.
- Great catch by Jordan Watkins for another first down.

- They followed that play with a 16-yard run by Christian McCaffrey. That's the longest run of the season for the 49ers.
- Touchdown, 49ers. Mac Jones hits McCaffrey, and we're tied up. Nice job by Kyle Shanahan to go for it on that 4th down.

- A much better showing from the defense forces a three-and-out.
- Skyy Moore almost pulled a Kyle Williams. Fortunately, he got out of the way of the bouncing punt.
- The running game is working early on.
- Brian Robinson is running hard. He needs to get more carries.
- Jauan Jennings scores on 3rd down. The 49ers take the lead. And it's nice to see Jennings do something positive. He's had a rough season.

- The 49ers' defense looked lifeless on the first drive. On the last two drives, they have looked much more intense.
- Thomas Morstead has been great at pinning teams near their own goal line.

- Jones is 13 for 13, by the way. And the offensive line seems to be doing a good job of protecting him—for a change.
- Welcome back to the 49ers, Clelin Ferrell. He almost killed Jackson Dart in that sack.

- Great series by the defense!
- Nice return by Moore, and the 49ers are in business.
- Jones just got sacked, and now it looks like he has a bloody nose. Burford was the one who was beaten.
- Eddy Piñeiro is good again. It's 17-7, 49ers.
- The 49ers got greedy, and Colton McKivitz lets his man get to Jones, who turns the ball over. The Giants have a chance to score now.

- The Giants miss the field goal, and the 49ers will take a 10-point lead into the half.
- Jones was 14 for 14 in the first half.
- Jones just threw his first incompletion.
- Nice catch by Luke Farrell for a first down.
- All of a sudden, the run game isn't working.
- How was that not pass interference? Jennings couldn't even get his arms up.

- Horrible defense by the 49ers. Dart stood there for several seconds, then took off for a big gain. That was followed by a defensive holding call. Just a pitiful play.
- Now Tatum Bethune gets called for a personal foul. That was a bad call, and the Giants have the ball inside the 10-yard line.
- Great tackle by Malik Mustapha to save the touchdown.
- All of a sudden, the 49ers can't move the ball, and the Giants are getting the ball back with the momentum.
- Sam Okuayinonu gets his second sack of the season.

- Great play by Renardo Green on third down to bat the ball away.

- The defense has played well after that first drive.
- Robinson is running over defenders. I like it.
- And Robinson gets his first touchdown with the 49ers. He looks strong running the ball and has rushed for 49 yards today.

- It's 27-10, and this is the most points San Francisco has scored this season.
- Ji'Ayir Brown with another big missed tackle. For some reason, he's playing ahead of Marques Sigle, who's not even active today.
- The defense has had problems stopping Dart from running today.
- Excellent kick return by Robinson. He's having a strong game.
- It's probably a good idea to cover McCaffrey. Big pickup on that screen pass.

- Another touchdown by McCaffrey. The 49ers lead 34-17.

- Mykel Williams is down and in a lot of pain. The 49ers can't afford to lose anyone else, especially a player with the upside of Williams.
- Nice play by Brown to break up that pass in the endzone.

- Lenoir and Mustapha just gave up a touchdown pass.
- Why is McCaffrey still in the game? They're up by 10 with just over a minute left.
The 49ers improve to 6-3 and will host the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday. That will be a tough matchup, but San Francisco has shown a lot of character this season.
