San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings returned to practice Thursday, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner, participating in the early portion of the session after missing Wednesday due to ankle and rib injuries. Jennings was inactive in last week's win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Reporters were only allowed to observe the early part of practice, so the full extent of Jennings' participation will be revealed when the 49ers release their official practice report later Thursday.

"I think he'll probably practice in a limited fashion today, and we'll see if he can make it for Sunday," 49ers general manager John Lynch said of Jennings.
Wagoner also noted that quarterback Brock Purdy remains sidelined with a toe injury, meaning Mac Jones is likely to start this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Purdy was seen working on the side as his teammates practiced.
Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who also missed the Rams game, is still not practicing but was observed working on the side as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

"Ricky is fighting through," Lynch said. "I think [he] still hasn't given up hope for this week. He wasn't on the practice field yesterday. Not likely to be out there today. We'll see if he can get in later in the week."
