The San Francisco 49ers have released the list of inactive players for their Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. These six players will not suit up for the game.
Inactives:
- RB Jordan James
- DL Jordan Jefferson
- WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder)
- LB Nick Martin
- QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder, toe)
- WR Jordan Watkins (calf)
On Friday, the 49ers ruled out Watkins, Jennings, and Purdy for the game against the Cardinals. The team listed one player, guard Connor Colby (groin), as questionable. Colby is active.
The 49ers announced multiple roster moves on Saturday, placing offensive lineman Spencer Burford on injured reserve with a knee injury. In corresponding moves, the team elevated quarterback Adrian Martinez and wide receiver Malik Turner from the practice squad, preparing for the absence of Brock Purdy and Jauan Jennings.
On Friday, the 49ers had listed both Purdy and Jennings as questionable for Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. Purdy is still recovering from a toe injury sustained in Week 1, while Jennings has been battling an ankle injury from Week 2 in addition to a shoulder issue dating back to Week 1. Just hours before kickoff, San Francisco officially ruled out both players.
The 49ers also ruled out wide receiver Jordan Watkins, who suffered a calf injury that could sideline him for several weeks.
"You never know with calves, but guess around three to four," head coach Kyle Shanahan said, noting that an injured reserve stint remains a possibility.
Meanwhile, rookie offensive lineman Connor Colby was listed as questionable after suffering a groin injury during Thursday's practice. He was a limited practice participant on Friday, but is active against the Cardinals. Colby will start at left guard in place of Ben Bartch, who was placed on the injured reserve list.
