The San Francisco 49ers were without several key players on Thursday, the team's seventh practice of training camp. Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters afterward, providing updates on the team's injury situation.
Key injury takeaways
- WR Jauan Jennings – No timetable for return from calf injury
- CB Deommodore Lenoir - dealing with hip irritation
- RB Jordan James - dealing with "knee issues"
Shanahan confirmed that Jennings continues to deal with the same calf injury that sidelined him at the end of the offseason program. The receiver, entering the final year of a two-year deal signed in 2024, is also seeking a contract extension.
On Lenoir, Shanahan explained, "He's got some hip irritation. He'll be out these three blocks—these three practices."
Shanahan added, "It's been bothering him throughout, and it finally started irritating him too much on the last three (three practices of the last block), so we shut him down for these three."
As for James, Shanahan noted, "We're gonna reevaluate him throughout this week, see how it goes, how he recovers, and then see where we're at in a week."
