Former 49ers defensive tackle Khalil Davis, currently a free agent, has decided to retire, according to his agent.
Davis (6-1, 308) was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the sixth round (No. 194 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Nebraska.
On November 5, 2024, the 49ers traded a seventh-round draft pick to the Houston Texans to acquire Davis. However, he was inactive for six games following the move, recording only three tackles in three contests with the team, per Pro Football Reference.
Davis, 28, has tallied 46 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 10 quarterback hits, three sacks, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble in 30 game appearances (one start) over four NFL seasons. In addition to his stints with the Buccaneers, Texans, and 49ers, he spent part of the 2021 season with the Indianapolis Colts.
