Nick Bosa wore a RESID3NCY San Francisco hat during his post-game press conference. However, one of the questions he faced was about a different hat he had on minutes earlier.

During NBC's post-game interview with George Kittle, Brock Purdy, and Isaac Guerendo, Bosa briefly crashed the segment, sporting a white "Make America Great Again" hat with gold lettering, making it clear who he is supporting in the upcoming presidential election.

"All right, Nick Bosa with a message there," said Melissa Stark as Bosa exited after showcasing his hat.

Bosa was no longer wearing the hat while speaking to Bay Area reporters. When asked why he chose that moment to make a political statement, specifically showing support for Republican candidate Donald Trump, Bosa responded, "I'm not going to talk too much about it, but I think it's an important time."

Bosa has been reticent about sharing his political views publicly since being drafted by the 49ers. Ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, he even deleted previous pro-Trump tweets. When asked at the time why he did so, Bosa said, "I had to. There is a chance I might end up in San Francisco."

The 49ers selected Bosa with the second overall pick in that draft.

Obviously, Bosa is now more comfortable voicing his opinion and was asked if he's been more tempted to do so in recent years.

"It's definitely a little easier nowadays," Bosa replied with a smile. "But no, I don't feel too inclined to do that. It's just a different climate."

Trump will compete with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. The 49ers are entering their bye week and won't play again until after the election.
