NFL players might have time off until training camps begin at the end of July, but that doesn't mean the work pauses. They need to stay in shape and hone their fundamentals during this break to prepare for the rigors of training camp and the upcoming 2024 season.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams' personal coach, Will Hewlett, revealed that the rookie plans to work with several NFL starting quarterbacks this offseason, including Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers.

Hewlett is also Purdy's personal quarterback coach, someone the 49ers player prefers to work with during the offseason. Purdy even trained with Hewlett in Florida last offseason—albeit limited—as he recovered from surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow. Their focus is typically on refining mechanics in preparation for training camp.

Purdy is coming off an impressive sophomore NFL campaign. His 4,280 passing yards set a new single-season franchise record, an incredible achievement considering the rich quarterback history of the organization.

"He'll (Williams) be working with Brock Purdy, [Colts QB] Anthony Richardson," Hewlett said on 670 The Score's "Parkins and Spiegel" show. "We've got, let's see, [Titans QB] Mason Rudolph, [Buccaneers QB] John Wolford. There's a bunch of other guys coming out. I think [Buccaneers QB] Kyle Trask will be out here for a little bit. Yeah, there's a number of pro guys that'll be out.

"But he'll get a chance to work with a lot of guys that have had success in the league or are trying to have success or have been in the league for a long time as a backup or been around the systems."

Hewlett noted that the conversations between the quarterbacks will have limitations. Obviously, no one will reveal potential team strategies for the upcoming season. After all, the 49ers and Bears face each other at Levi's Stadium on December 8.

"But in terms of guys that are training together in some capacity, that are working out together, there's no reason why they don't talk about how they operate and how they do things," Hewlett continued. "Brock's one of the greatest people I've ever met. Just an unbelievable young man. Two years in the league, going into his third year, but played a lot of ball already.

"And so, Brock, I'm sure, will chop it up with Caleb on his experiences and how he's worked through things, and the same with Anthony Richardson, too. Anthony and Caleb got a chance to know each other really well and just went through it his rookie year. So now, coming back from this first stretch of actually being a professional, I think Caleb will have some more questions. ... And it's nice to bounce that off of, obviously, coaches, but also guys that are in it right now."
