San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel will be wearing No. 1 the next time he steps onto the football field, leaving behind his No. 19 jersey. It's an unfortunate change for any fan who previously invested in a Deebo jersey—unless they consider it a throwback.

Newly signed wide receiver Trent Taylor quickly claimed No. 19 after rejoining the team on a one-year deal following three seasons elsewhere. Taylor last wore No. 15 with the 49ers, a number currently worn by wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Taylor also wore No. 81 with the team.

The 49ers' official team site has listed the jersey numbers for several of the team's free-agent newcomers (and Maliek Collins, acquired via a trade) below. Of course, these could change as the offseason progresses, so don't rush out to get your brand new Leonard Floyd jersey just yet.

The new jersey numbers are listed below:

Two 49ers land in top 10 of PFF's wide receiver ranking

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver situation remains unresolved as Brandon Aiyuk, the team's leading receiver last season, did not join organized team activities (OTAs) this week as he seeks a contract extension. This was expected, given the voluntary nature of the current phase of the offseason. Despite contract uncertainty, the top of the 49ers' wide receiver depth chart is not expected to change for the upcoming season. The starters will be Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, with a healthy dose of Jauan Jennings and rookie Ricky Pearsall sprinkled in. This group is expected to pose a formidable challenge for opposing defenses, with Aiyuk and Samuel considered one of the top duos in the NFL. Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus recently

49ers won't play international game during 2024 NFL season

By David Bonilla
May 15

The San Francisco 49ers escaped having to play an international game for another season. The Bay Area team won't be required to travel overseas or compete in Mexico during the 2024 season. The NFL has released its lineup of international games, and the 49ers aren't among the teams scheduled for long-distance journeys. San Francisco's last international game was in 2022, where they triumphed over the Arizona Cardinals in Mexico. Their prior overseas venture was to London in 2013, when they clinched a victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. There was a chance that the 49ers might return to the United Kingdom for the 2024 NFL season. The Minnesota Vikings will host a team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2024, and the 49ers are on their home

Does 49ers QB Brock Purdy need Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel for success?

By David Bonilla
May 15

Rumors circulated before and during the 2024 NFL Draft about the possibility of the San Francisco 49ers losing one of their top two wide receivers—Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel. Such a scenario could have significantly impacted the team's success in the upcoming season and posed a potential blow for quarterback Brock Purdy, who has thrived alongside the dynamic duo on the field. However, none of these speculations came to fruition. Both Aiyuk and Samuel remain on the roster, at least for another season, though their future beyond that remains uncertain. Aiyuk is seeking a contract extension that would position him among the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. At the same time, Samuel already commands a significant salary following a deal rework in 2022.
