Brock Purdy was among the nine San Francisco 49ers players selected for this year's Pro Bowl. After Thursday's practice, the quarterback spoke to reporters and discussed earning the honor in only his second NFL season.

"What an honor," Purdy said. "Very thankful, obviously, to everyone who voted and all the support across the country. It's so cool, actually. And for all my teammates, too, for them to be recognized, it's sweet. We got a special team, special unit of guys, but to be listed up there with them, what an honor. So, yeah, very thankful for it."

Fifteen 49ers players led their positions when it comes to Pro Bowl fan voting. At the top of that list was Purdy, who earned 451,864 fan votes, more than any other NFL player.

"Yeah, I heard about that. It's crazy," Purdy said. "I don't know really what to say to that. It's cool. Sort of just, this last year, how crazy it's been. And then to sort of see that and the support from everybody watching, just all of it, the whole story, and the last year, it's been a blessing."

Obviously, Purdy is grateful to be recognized for his hard work and accomplishments this season. However, the quarterback likely hopes to miss the week-long events in Orlando. The 49ers would prefer to be busy preparing for Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas.

San Francisco has earned the top seed in the NFC and home-field advantage in the playoffs. The 49ers will close out the regular season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. They will host their first playoff opponent two weeks later at Levi's Stadium.
