According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, head coach Ron Rivera has announced a quarterback change for the Washington Commanders. Jacoby Brissett will be the starting quarterback on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, relegating Sam Howell to the bench.
The #Commanders are making a QB change with two games left. Following his impressive performance on Sunday, Jacoby Brissett will start against the #49ers, coach Ron Rivera is announcing.
Brissett entered Sunday's game against the New York Jets in the third quarter, completing 10 of his 13 pass attempts for 100 yards and a touchdown after Washington was down 27-7. Despite leading three scoring drives, the Commanders ultimately lost the game 30-28.
This season, Brissett has appeared in three games, completing 18 of his 23 pass attempts for 224 yards and three touchdowns. Drafted in the third round by the New England Patriots in 2016, the quarterback is now in his eighth NFL season.
