Trent Williams was back on the practice field on Friday. The San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman had returned to practice on Thursday, his first time rejoining his teammates on the field since suffering an ankle injury on October 15 against the Cleveland Browns.
T Trent Williams (ankle) is on the practice field for the second straight day, a good sign he'll play in Jacksonville.

Following their bye week, the 49ers are gearing up for their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They hope to end a three-game losing streak. Official game statuses and a practice participation report will be released after Friday's practice.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that Williams' ankle is improving, but the offensive lineman will be a "true game-time decision."
The 49ers clearly want to get LT Trent Williams back on the field for this Sunday's game against Jacksonville. I'm told his ankle is improving but he will be a true game-time decision, per source.

Williams was a limited practice participant on Thursday. The offensive lineman hasn't played in the last two games, missing more time than initially expected. The 49ers general manager explained why on Friday morning.
"Trent, it's been a struggle with the ankle," John Lynch said on Bay Area radio station KNBR. "When you've played as long as Trent, he's had some ankle injuries. I think the MRIs can be tougher to read because you've got a lot of chronic old stuff that has been in there. So, when you're reading the MRIs, don't want to get into technicalities, but I think it probably was a little more severe than we might have hoped. It's taken some time."
Lynch added, "If we can have him, we will, but we've got to check all those boxes, how he responds."
