The San Francisco 49ers have elevated wide receiver Willie Snead and cornerback Kendall Sheffield from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.
It will be the first elevation from the practice squad for both players, as the 49ers look to add potential depth at both receiver and cornerback due to injuries.
Wideouts
Deebo Samuel and
Jauan Jennings have been battling knee and shin injuries, respectively, with the former listed as questionable and the latter listed as doubtful for Sunday's game.
As a result, head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated the 49ers would call up at least one receiver from the practice squad, and they did exactly that by elevating Snead for Sunday's game.
In addition, the 49ers have some injury issues at cornerback as
Ambry Thomas is listed as questionable with a knee injury, while the team lost
Samuel Womack to Injured Reserve on September 16.
The 49ers elevated wideout Chris Conley and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles from the practice squad ahead of their game against the New York Giants.
This week, it's elevations at the same positions, but different players, as Snead and Sheffield will look to make their season debuts for the 49ers this weekend.

49ers plan to sign safety Erik Harris to practice squad
The San Francisco 49ers are looking to bolster their safety depth following injuries to Talanoa Hufanga and George Odum. Hufanga's season came to an end in Week 11 after the starter suffered a torn ACL, leading to rookie Ji'Ayir Brown taking his place in the lineup.
Odum sustained a torn biceps in last week's victory over the Seattle Seahawks. While his return for the playoffs is possible, the injuries prompted the 49ers to explore additional options.
According to NFL Network and confirmed by NBC Sports Bay Area, the team plans to sign veteran Erik Harris to the practice squad.

Christian McCaffrey breaks two 49ers touchdown records
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey scored two rushing touchdowns in yesterday's 31-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Those scores give him 11 rushing touchdowns on the year, to go along with 5 receiving touchdowns.
While McCaffrey's oft-publicized touchdown streak may have been snapped at 17 against Jacksonville, his touchdown totals have made him the uncontested leader in two important San Francisco franchise records.
First, McCaffrey's 11 rushing touchdowns in 2023 have set a new 49ers franchise record for most rushing touchdowns by a player in one season. He breaks a logjam at what was once the top of the record books—five 49ers players had rushed for 10 scores in a season, including Frank Gore (2009), Derek Loville (1995), Ricky

So there's a lot to be thankful for if you're a fan of the 49ers. Speaking of those fans, we opened up the 49ers Webzone Mailbag to grab your questions. So let's jump in and see what questions we can answer:
