George Kittle has been fighting a nagging groin injury. He's practiced this week but has been a limited participant, leaving some to wonder if the San Francisco 49ers might be without their All-Pro tight end on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Don't tell Kittle that, though. He fully expects to be on the football field with his teammates this weekend.
After a rigorous Thursday practice, reporters asked the tight end how he felt.
"Wonderful," Kittle responded. "I get to practice, get to play football, have the best job in the world besides you guys, and I'm just excited to play on Sunday."
San Francisco's general manager, John Lynch, provided an update on Kittle during his weekly interview on KNBR.
"He's had a really positive week," Lynch said on the "Murph and Mac" show. "[We'll] see how he responds to yesterday, which was a tough practice. But he looks like George Kittle, and that's a good thing. He looked really good out there yesterday."
Kittle looks to improve upon his 2022 campaign when he hauled in 60 passes for 765 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns.
