Day 9 of the San Francisco 49ers training camp is officially over, as it was a light practice, with the energy level lowered after a long practice on Friday, with Brock Purdy taking a rest day, allowing Trey Lance and Sam Darnold to work with the first-team offense.

It was an underwhelming start for the quarterbacks, but Trey Lance finished strong, ending with a deep touchdown pass to Willie Snead on an incredible catch for a touchdown.

49ers QBs on Day 9

With Brock Purdy taking a rest day, Trey Lance, Sam Darnold, and Brandon Allen led the charge on Day 9 of 49ers training camp.

Lance and Darnold were seeing working under center, making passes after a five-step dropback.

Additionally, the quarterbacks repped the quick game out of the shotgun, which was on display during team drills throughout the day.

An area of concern had been the passes off play-action rollouts, so it made sense the 49ers' quarterbacks repped that drill on Saturday.

Rookie Hype Machine

Two 49ers' draftees, third-rounder Ji'Ayir Brown and fifth-rounder Darrell Luter Jr., were seen as the Rookie Hype Machine on Saturday.

49ers Top DBs

The 49ers' top defensive backs, Charvarius Ward, Deommodore Lenoir, Talanoa Hufanga, and Tashaun Gipson, all did a certain drill together for the first time on Friday, working individually while the rest of the group repped special teams.

49ers LBs

Linebackers coach Johnny Holland was filmed coaching up Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, and company in a position group drill.

Later on, they were seen doing a drill focused on backpedaling before locating the ball for an interception.

The 49ers' DBs were filmed focusing on footwork in a drill conducted by defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

49ers Notebook: Nick Bosa lobbies for 49ers to keep Chase Young; Kyle Juszczyk addresses his future; Has anyone on the team watched the Super Bowl yet?

By Kirk Larrabee
Feb 13

The offseason is underway for the San Francisco 49ers, which means the team's decision makers will soon have to determine which free agents they would like to try to keep and which ones they'll have to let go. One of the more interesting cases is defensive end Chase Young, whom the 49ers added during the regular season from the Washington Commanders in exchange for a third-round draft pick. It may be hard for the 49ers to prevent Young from being more than a rent-a-player, but Young's friend and former Ohio State University teammate Nick Bosa made it clear Tuesday he'd like to see general manager John Lynch and the 49ers brass find a way to keep Young on the team. In this edition of the 49ers Notebook, we delve into a range of topics starting with Bosa's

Video of an emotional Fred Warner reacting to 49ers LB Dre Greenlaw's injury emerges

By David Bonilla
Feb 15

Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw are arguably the best linebacker duo in the NFL, serving as the heart of the San Francisco 49ers defense while sharing a strong bond. Therefore, it's no surprise that Warner felt deeply for his teammate and friend when Greenlaw suffered a torn Achilles in the second quarter of Super Bowl 58 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The following video captures Warner's raw emotional response after Greenlaw was carted off the field, revealing the profound anguish experienced by the star linebacker, even as teammate Nick Bosa attempted to console him. This hurts to watch so much. Via

Klint Kubiak commends Kyle Shanahan after departing 49ers for Saints

By David Bonilla
Feb 15

Klint Kubiak is among several assistant coaches departing the San Francisco 49ers for opportunities elsewhere. He will serve as the New Orleans Saints' offensive coordinator after his stint as the 49ers' offensive passing game specialist. Kubiak only spent one season with the 49ers. Of course, it's unsurprising to see the considerable interest in head coach Kyle Shanahan's coaching staff, given the success many of his proteges have found across the league. Upon his departure, Kubiak had nothing but praise for his time working under Shanahan. "Just being here a year, my experience is, Kyle really lets you into his brain in his game plan meetings," Kubiak
