According to recent odds released by BetOnline, the Kansas City Chiefs are the betting favorites to be the NFL's last remaining undefeated team during the 2023 season. Right behind them are last season's AFC runner-ups, the Cincinnati Bengals.
The San Francisco 49ers come in at No. 3 on the list, owning the same odds as their NFC Championship Game opponent from last season, the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams are considered to be the most talented in their conference.
The Eagles came out on top in January, representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. However, 49ers players believe the outcome could have been very different had rookie quarterback Brock Purdy not suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow early in the contest.
San Francisco is returning with much of its talent intact and even stole away defensive tackle Javon Hargrave from Philadelphia this offseason. The biggest question mark is the health of Purdy, who underwent surgery in March and continues to recover.
The 49ers open the regular season with road games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams before returning to Levi's Stadium to face the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and Dallas Cowboys. They will play the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and Bengals before their bye week. Click here to view the 49ers' entire 2023 schedule.
