The San Francisco 49ers drafted Javon Kinlaw with the 14th overall pick in 2020. Since being drafted, Kinlaw has only participated in 858 snaps. His career totals are as follows: 29 pressures, 1.5 sacks, four QB hits, and 22 hurries. Kinlaw also has two batted-down passes, 45 total tackles, and one interception for a touchdown. For a first-round defensive tackle, these numbers aren't eye-popping.

Kinlaw enters the fourth year of his contract. According to reports, the 49ers don't plan to exercise the fifth-year option on Kinlaw. General manager John Lynch stated that the team doesn't plan to trade him and that his surgically repaired knee is much improved, per Cam Inman.

"That will allow defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw to work part-time in a robust rotation," wrote Inman. "Kinlaw, by the way, is starting this offseason with a healthier knee than in past years. The 49ers have no designs to trade him ahead of the fourth (and final) year of his rookie contract."

So what has been the cause of Kinlaw's unproductive play on the football field? The answer, in simplest form, is his injuries. Kinlaw hasn't been able to put together successful gameplay because of his inability to be on the field. In the 2022 season, he went on the injured reserve list due to his ongoing knee issues, which reached a tipping point during the Week 3 game against the Denver Broncos.

"Now he is healthy," Lynch said. "He gets to be a part of how we rotate guys in and out. He's going to be part of that rotation."

With the addition former-Eagle Javon Hargrave, Kinlaw will slot into the rotation of defensive linemen, meaning fresh legs, less wear and tear, and less pressure on him being an every-down defensive tackle. With Kinlaw healthy, this helps the 49ers and tremendously helps his value.

Expect the defensive tackle to have a breakout year with the 49ers.

Albert Breer predicts 49ers, Brandon Aiyuk standoff results in $29 million-a-year deal

By David Bonilla
Jun 13

We are unlikely to hear any updates on the contract standoff between the San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk until training camp begins late next month. Aiyuk signaled his dissatisfaction with the negotiation progress by skipping last week's mandatory minicamp, subjecting himself to fines totaling $101,716. Skipping training camp could result in further fines. Matt Barrows of The Athletic recently stated that there is no indication the 49ers will waive any fines resulting from Aiyuk's absences. "All those fines will start piling up in the summer, [and there's] no indication that the 49ers will forgive Aiyuk for absences the way that they did for Nick Bosa,"

10 highest-paid NFL QBs: Will 49ers' Brock Purdy top the list next year?

By David Bonilla

It doesn't seem that long ago when the Kansas City Chiefs signed Patrick Mahomes to a jaw-dropping 10-year, $450 million contract. That $45 million annual salary now looks like a bargain for the NFL's best quarterback. Eight quarterbacks now earn more annually than the three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was the latest player to leap past Mahomes, reportedly signing a five-year extension worth up to $275 million. That $55 million average ties him with Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals as the highest-paid player in NFL

Why 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk playing on 5th-year option intrigues Jeremy Fowler

By David Bonilla
Jun 10

Brandon Aiyuk probably wants to avoid playing on his fifth-year option. Although it would earn him $14.124 million in 2024, it is far below his market value. Similarly, the San Francisco 49ers likely want to avoid approaching the $30 million annual salary that might end the wide receiver's holdout. Last week, Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle reported what was likely the 49ers' latest offer to Aiyuk, stating, "I'm hearing maybe their offer's in the $26 million range, which, you know, it's certainly not Justin Jefferson money, nor should it be, but it's closer to that DeVonta Smith, Amon-Ra St. Brown, that next tier down." Suppose the two sides can't reach a mutually

Insider shares what 49ers have likely offered Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers are eager to sign Brandon Aiyuk to a long-term deal, believing he can continue to be a number-one receiver and a focal point in an offense filled with playmakers. However, the negotiations aren't progressing as smoothly as both sides had hoped. Aiyuk didn't report to the 49ers' mandatory minicamp this week, subjecting himself to possible fines. The receiver is looking at the big picture, knowing that his absence sends a message and could make him money in the long run. About $100,000 in potential fines is a drop in the bucket when he is looking to become one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL. The Minnesota Vikings recently signed Justin Jefferson to a market-resetting contract averaging $35 million annually. Three other receivers
